  1. Context panel

Visual editor context panel contains set of buttons:

• Template parameters - allows to set/modify main parameters Workflow template is a sequence of steps (actions) from start to finish, executed sequentially. This way, assigning such steps/actions in a desirable sequence allows implementing the required algorithm for a required result. and workflow launch parameters;
• Template list - switch to workflow template list;
• Create template <workflow_type> - allows creating one of workflows;
• Export Process for moving template from one project to another is fairly simple: just use the button at the workflow designer context panel. - export of current workflow template;
• Import - import of workflow template instead of current template.

  2. Main work section

External appearance of work section depends on the workflow type: sequential workflow Sequential workflow — actions are executed one after another from start to finish point.

or state-driven workflow State-driven workflow — doesn't have start
and endpoint, with transition from one status to another. Separate editing form
opens for each sequential subprocess.

Creating and editing a workflow template, i. e. adding specific actions is performed via dragging of an action to the main designer's handling section in the required workflow template. Otherwise, use the menu, available when clicking on triangle icon .

Click Ctrl button for copying the already actions. The deletes the action, and for detailed configuration of template's action - button . Some actions are collapsible for saving screen space.

  3. Designer action panel

Visual editor action panel contains the set of actions Sequential business process is built from set of actions. Each action executes a specific feature and has its own parameters.

  4. Buttons

The following buttons are displayed when creating/editing a sequential workflow template: Save, Apply and Cancel.

In case of editing/creating a state-driven workflow, shows only the Back to states button for switching back to template layout, where state updates and actions are saved/cancelled.

Note: When template was updated, but not saved, upon leaving the page, a warning is displayed about possible loss of unsaved data, with option to save the updates.

  Conclusion

This article gave a brief overview of where the Visual editor can be launched and how to use it to design workflow templates. This tool uses the drag&drop technology, allowing clearly and conveniently create and edit workflow/business process templates.
