The number of sites in the system depends on the license agreement terms and on the number of additional sites.
Bitrix Site Manager features creation of unlimited number of sites with the use of a single copy (license) of the product, keeping a single installation of the system kernel and database on the server. The maximum number of sites is limited by the license terms. If you want to create extra sites over the allowed limit, you should obtain additional license for extra sites.
According to the license agreement, each product copy allows to create two sites. This stipulates that both sites will use the common program core and the database.
Note! The license agreement does not permit using a single product copy to create independent sites located on different physical servers having their own product cores and databases.
For each product copy, you can additionally purchase an unlimited number of sites. The price for the extra sites depends on the product edition.
Obtaining licenses for additional sites means that you are given special site coupons (one coupon for one extra license). Additional licenses (and coupons, correspondingly) depend on the product edition. For example, to create an extra site using the Expert MySQL edition, you have to obtain the license (coupon) for an extra site for the Expert MySQL edition.
After getting the coupon, click the Add Site link on the main page of the Update System. On the new page, enter the received coupon code in the corresponding field and click the Get Site button.
If the coupon is valid and conforms your product edition and has not been used before, one more site will be added to the maximum number of sites allowed by the current product copy.

The unlimited license allows to create an unlimited number of sites running on the shared system core using the common database.
The use of such license can be profitable for the companies having many subsidiaries or branches, each of which is supposed to have an individual web site.
