Adding advertisement to pages
Let us publish a banner in the advertising area LEFT on the main page:
- Create a new contract to which a new banner is to be bound, and name it "Main page" (Services -> Advertising -> Contracts, click Add contract on the context toolbar):

Click the Restrictions tab and mark the banner types that will be managed by this contract. Also, we have to configure the banner showing schedule:

On the Targeting tab, specify pages where the contract banners will be shown:

Save the contract. You can now see it added to the list of contracts in the Advertising contracts form (Services -> Advertising -> Contracts):

- Create a banner that will be displayed in the LEFT advertising area (Services -> Advertising -> Banners). Click Add banner on the context toolbar, and select the contract we have just created in the menu.

Upload the banner image, and specify the link to be opened when a visitor clicks the banner:

Note: the new banner is bound to the previously created contract
Main page. The contract stipulates that only the banners of the
LEFT type can be created:

Remember that we have specified the banners of this contract to be shown on the main page only (
/index.php
).
After save, the banner will be added to the list of banners:

Now we can see the banner shown in the LEFT advertising area.

Giving permissions to publish advertisement
Third-party users can publish and manage advertisement on your site. You can control their actions and restrict their permissions by creating dedicated advertising contracts.
Consider an example of enabling employees of an imaginary company BestShop to publish and manage their advertisement in the LEFT2 advertising area
- Create a new user group (BestShop); it will contain BestShop users. This user group will be given permissions to manage their advertisement.

Open the Access tab and select the Advertiser permission to access the Advertising module.

- Create a new contract; name it Company "BestShop".

On the Restrictions tab, mark banner types that can be controlled by advertisers.

On the Targeting tab, specify site sections where banners of the contract can be shown.

On the Access tab, define contract owners and their rights to manage advertisement in the context of this contract.

As a result, members of the BestShop user group now can create and manage banners of the BestShop advertising contract.
