Click an appropriate button or link in the list of forum topics or in the window of a specific topic. Possibly you will have to register before posting a message.
It depends on whether it is allowed by the administrator or not. If HTML is allowed, it is more likely that only several tags will be available. This is for the sake of security to prohibit the use of tags which can cause damage to the proper operation of the site.
The following pseudo-tags may be allowed by the administrator:
||Bold, underline or italic text.||
||Both the start and end tags (</b>, </u>, </i>) are required.|
||Embeds an image into the text message. Address is the full path to the image located on any public site.|
||Special tag to set apart a quotation in text.||
||Both the start and end tags (</quote>) are required.|
||Special tag to specify a code sample.||
||Both the start and end tags(</code>) are required.|
||Font color and size.||
||Both the start and end tags (</font>) are required.|
You can insert images in messages if it is allowed by the administrator. You must specify a link to the picture on the public server, for example:
Smileys, or emoticons, are small pictures that can be used as an expression of various emotions. For example: :) means joy, happiness, :( means sadness, grief. The full list of smileys can be accessed in the message creation form. But do not use too many emotions – they can make the message unreadable, and moderator will have to edit it, or even delete it from the forum.
You may not need to do it. It depends on the forum settings: whether you need to register to post messages on this forum or not.
If you are registered, all your preferences are stored in the database. To edit them, go to the Profile section (the link to this section is located at the top of the forum). You can edit all your preferences there. The access to the Profile section is granted only after registration.
The page for editing the user profile consists of three sections: changing the registration information, changing the personal data and changing forum profile.
You can subscribe to receive new messages from the whole forum or a specific topic. Subscription requires that you are registered on the server. If you want to subscribe to receive messages from the whole forum, use the Subscribe link in the forum menu. If you want to subscribe to receive new messages of a specific topic, use the Subscribe link in the upper right corner of the topic.
There is another subscription type – subscribe only to new topics (i.e. to the first message of each new topic). All the three subscription types are accessible in the forum menu. You can also access your subscription settings from the forum menu.
To manage your subscription, click the Edit subscription link in your profile.
